I was enchanted and inspired by the colors and rhythmic motion of floating autumn leaves. I admire Asian art because negative white space helps define the composition usually composed of simple renderings of subject matter. I painted Blowing in the Wind with Chinese watercolors which are both bright and more opaque than traditional watercolors. My choice to use Asian rice paper with gorgeous texture, complements this painting’s negative space.
