Although  two doves are the center of interest of this oil, the painting was inspired by the atmospheric light surrounding them. I wished to capture the feeling of the day when I sighted these familiar birds during my morning walk. Note my subtle vertical brush strokes on the right side of the painting, influenced by how Asian artists use similar marks to balance a painting.
