A single blue heron stands in a pond in Vermont, waiting for dinner. The heron is rendered in detail, while the pond and surroundings are painted more impressionistically. 

Herons are a recurring subject in my art production, both in painting and in sculpture. Herons visit our property in Vermont and I always welcome the sightings of this graceful and elongated bird.
