Thoroughbred Portrait

This Thoroughbred Portrait was sculpted from trackside drawings and photographs taken at Saratoga Race Course in beautiful Saratoga Springs, NY. The piece shows the elegance of this breed, which is known for its delicate features and tremendous agility, qualities found in the three Arabian forebears from which all registered thoroughbreds are descended. As every thoroughbred trainer will attest, each of these equine athletes has a distinctive personality, shown here in the inquisitive expression and bold, bright-eyed gaze. The portrait is mounted on a horseshoe-shaped base of polished black Vermont marble.
