It was one of those sunny blue-sky days of autumn in Vermont, when after placing my harvested pumpkin in a garden basket, I decided to gather brillant leaves in my yard for an oil painting subject. I wished to convey the joy I felt during this, my favorite season. The leaves seem to dance, as if falling off from the trees in this still-life oil which I wished to imbue with life and movement.
